Becoming PCI compliant

PCI DSS stands for ‘Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard’ ‒ it's a global information security standard.

If you're a business that stores, sends or processes cardholder data, you'll need to make sure you meet the rules associated with this standard.

All payments taken using our card machines, NatWest Tap to Pay or Payment Gateway are automatically securely encrypted using end-to-end encryption (E2EE). This encryption is approved by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC).

However, if we determine that you are subject to additional requirements, you will be provided with access to the Safe Pay portal, our PCI DSS compliance validation service hosted by Viking Cloud. This service allows you to confirm that your business handles cardholder data securely, as is required by the PCI council.
